Background
The customer uses torsion springs as detent and clutch springs. The problem was to achieve a stop function, this was supplemented by a mechanical stop. They also had problems in getting the mechanical stop to work, or the spring hold it down when subjected to the forces that occurred in the application.
Action
Lesjöfors suggested a new design for the spring and quickly provided samples of the new spring.
Improvement
The customer was able to completely remove the mechanical stop and their mechanism now gives even retardation and a distinct stop.
