Over the past few weeks, our team has been working diligently to assess the damage, which has proven to be significant, rendering the facility non-operational.
Our focus has been on managing our order book, customizing strategies to meet the needs of each customer, and exploring global sourcing options to minimize disruptions. Unfortunately, the damage sustained at the site has affected certain services. While we have been successful in finding solutions for many orders, some delays are inevitable.
We deeply value the long-standing relationships we have developed with our customers, and it is with great regret that we are facing these challenges. Delivering excellence remains our core commitment.

On February 17, a fire broke out at our facility OY Lesjöfors AB in Åminnefors, Finland. We are deeply grateful that no one was injured in the incident. Since that day, our primary focus has been to support our employees and customers, while thoroughly assessing the situation and securing continuity in production.
Over the past weeks, we have worked intensively to evaluate the extent of the damage to the facility, equipment, and operations. In parallel, we have explored internal and external alternatives to maintain supply and service to our customers.
Although our initial ambition was to rebuild the factory in Åminnefors, a comprehensive business evaluation has led us to a different conclusion. By consolidating hot coiling production and extending capabilities at Lesjöfors Fjädrar in Sweden, we can leverage existing infrastructure and organizational synergies to a greater extent – ensuring long-term efficiency and competitiveness. Therefore, the decision has been taken not to rebuild the Åminnefors factory.
Of the 17 employees currently based in Åminnefors, several have already transitioned to our sister site, Lesjöfors Fjädrar in Sweden and individual discussions are being held to explore longer-term employment opportunities. We are committed to offering fair and constructive solutions for all affected colleagues.
Jakob Lindqvist, VP Nordics, Lesjöfors Group says: “This has been a difficult situation for everyone involved – most of all for our colleagues in Åminnefors. I want to express my sincere appreciation for their resilience and professionalism during these past months. While the decision not to rebuild was not taken lightly, consolidating and expanding our production in Sweden is a strategic step that strengthens our ability to serve customers with excellence and long-term reliability. We remain fully committed to the hot coiling segment and to being a trusted partner in the years to come.”
