INCREASING VOLUMES IN GERMANY LED TO EXPANDED PREMISES

The German Lesjöfors company Velleuer has after years of increasing business volumes decided to expand their facilities with a new building. Thanks to the larger space there will be more room for automated processes and logistics.

In 2018, Velleuer bought an adjacent property to its existing factory in Velbert and the decision to build an extension followed in December 2020. In April 2021, the first excavator hit the ground and construction work could begin.

A BETTER WORKFLOW

The new facility will have all the expertise and the latest equipment for the manufacture of complex stampings. The existing factory will continue with the manufacture of wire spring products and a well-planned warehouse. There will also be more space for value added processes like assemblage of strip components and inline washing.

Frank Jahn, MD of Velleuer, comments on the expanding premises:

“By separating the production of stampings from wire springs and forms we gain not only more space and a better workflow for our employees but also more streamlined logistics which our customers will benefit from when it comes to an even higher service level.”

PROCESS AUTOMATION

The new building will meet the latest requirements in terms of building energy efficiency, which is a high-priority area in the Lesjöfors Group’s sustainability objectives. The newly gained space is necessary in order to cope with the increased business volumes and the growing requirements of process automation. By the end of 2021, Velleuer plans to move into the new building.

“Velleuer has over the past years grown both in new customers and in existing customers who have broaden their business with us, which we see as a warranty that our offering to the market is what the customers want. We are eager to move in and fill the space with competence!” says Frank Jahn.
