Background
The customer used large quantities plane ground compression springs, costing millions of crowns every year.
Action
After various discussions with the customer and an analysis of the application, we suggested that the springs should be made without plane grinding. We also provided a design proposal for the appearance of the springs so that they would retain the same function.
Improvement
The customer saved 3 million crowns/year by omitting plane grinding.
