Background
The customer packed all the springs before delivery by putting them on a sheet of plastic on the floor, oiling them and then rolling them into a package that was taped together.
Action
Lesjöfors invested in a plant for oil misting and packaging in long plastic bags. This operation was integrated into the manufacturing process and thus caused almost no extra work.
Improvement
The customer was able to avoid an irrational and internally impopular task, and receives the springs ready to deliver straight away to the final customer.
