Background
The customer had a complicated wire form which was almost impossible to manufacture. A consequence of this was that the price of the component and the finished price were so high that the introduction failed.
Action
The customer visited our factory and we reviewed the functions needed. After various discussions, we designed a much simpler suggestion than the original component.
Improvement
The customer's saving amounted to a halving of the component price, which gave a net saving in this case of 120,000 SEK a year.
