New measuring equipment secures high-class springs

2010-07-01 A significant investment in measurement equipment has been made in Danish Tinglev, where high performance compression springs are manufactured. The investment means that even higher quality of production can be ensured.

When high performance compression springs are manufactured, it is imperative to measure the spring dimensions in a reliable and accurate way, for best possible product precision. Lesjöfors in Tinglev have therefore invested in a new optical measuring equipment that has made it possible to measure the springs with much greater accuracy than before.

Measurement with high accuracy
The measuring equipment gives a more precise measurement, is faster and more reliable and at the same time more data can be collected to monitor and control quality of production. It is hereby possible to obtain a complete survey of the spring with a graphical visualization of the spring geometry for each coil rotation and for the entire spring. Data can then be printed in one single report. The product overview can easily display the critical areas of the spring. It is therefore a very good tool in the development of a new product where optimal spring qualities are desired.
